How South Dakota works
South Dakota is hunt-only — you set up lodging in a nearby town (we'll point you to the right one once the birds settle) and meet us in the dark. The migration stalls against the snow line here, so when a front pins them down the numbers get stupid.

March into April — the tail end of the migration, right before the birds jump for the tundra. Weather drives everything up here; flexible dates catch the best hunts.

It can be genuinely cold — this is the snow line. Layer like you mean it: insulated waterproof boots, heavy gloves, and windproof outerwear. The birds are worth it.
